Batoul Ashour //

Batoul Ashour is a Lebanese visual artist working primarily through figurative painting, realism, and symbolism. Her practice explores what happens to the individual when political, social, and philosophical forces begin to shape the inner self. Through her work, She examine how external forces affect identity, psychology, and the human experience.
Her paintings often take the form of cinematic stills moments suspended between what has happened and what is about to unfold. Through atmosphere, gesture, and symbolic detail, she explore themes of identity, power, conflict, transformation, and the relationship between the individual and society.
Literature, philosophy, portraiture, and cinema continually inform her practice, particularly the existential narratives of Franz Kafka, the expressive portraiture of Frans Hals, and ideas surrounding aesthetic judgment. She participated in several Exhibitions such as, (Women and Youth Empowerment) Group Exhibition, Lebanese University, Beirut, Lebanon, (Expertise France Collaboration,) Installation: Not for the Bed (mixed media: wooden bed structure, painting, video, poetry) 2026, Live Art Performance Group Exhibition American University of Beirut (AUB) in collaboration with UNESCO Beirut Selected participant representing Lebanese University. 2026, Qiyām / Rising) Group Exhibition( ﻗﻴﺎ م Commemorative Exhibition for Resistance Martyrs in Lebanon, Iran, and Iraq.
